Syndicate news (RSS 2.0)

RSS is an acronym for Really Simple Syndication. «Syndication» is a word becoming more and more common in Internet and its meaning is not fully understood. Actually, web syndication is basically a section of a website that is made available for other sites to use.

So, RSS is a format for information to be shared, so that other users can access to this information, process it and publish it in their websites. RSS is based in markup language and, therefore, RSS files from different websites follow the structure of a XML file: different tags identify the different parts of the information to be syndicated by the website.

So, the syndication process is divided in two parts: on one hand the website (, in this case), offering one or more RSS feeds with the contents to be shared. On the other hand, the websites willing to use these contents in their websites. So the XML file is available for these websites to be processed with their own tools, so that the content is in the same format that the website.
